This policy explains how billing, cancellation and refunds work for ScreenSwytch, provided by Onnen Solutions Ltd ("Onnen", "we", "us" or "our"). It should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions; where the two differ on refunds, the Terms prevail. Nothing in this policy affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer.
1. Free trial first
ScreenSwytch comes with a free 7-day trial so you can evaluate it fully before you pay a penny. No payment details are needed to start it, and it never turns into a paid subscription on its own.
2. How billing works
ScreenSwytch is an annual subscription at £6 per device, per year, paid by card at checkout through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are in GBP and shown exclusive of VAT; any VAT or sales tax due is added at checkout. Your subscription renews automatically for successive twelve-month terms until you cancel.
3. Cancelling and auto-renewal
You can cancel at any time from your account (through the Stripe billing portal) or by emailing us. To stop your next renewal, cancel before your current term ends. Cancelling stops future charges — it doesn't, by itself, refund the term you're already in; you keep access until that term expires.
4. Your 14-day right to cancel (consumers)
If you bought as a consumer, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel an online purchase. ScreenSwytch is digital content supplied immediately, so when you activate a paid licence you ask us to start supplying it right away and acknowledge you then lose this 14-day right for that term. The free trial is there so you can decide before you buy. If, within those 14 days, you have not yet activated a paid licence, contact us and we'll refund you in full.
5. Refunds
Because the trial lets you try everything first, we don't give refunds simply for a change of mind once a paid term has started — for example deciding you no longer need it, a change in your circumstances or budget, or not having cancelled before renewing. This does not affect your legal rights.
We will put things right where the software has a fault or does not work substantially as described and we can't fix it within a reasonable time after you tell us — including, where appropriate, a refund. We'll also refund a payment made in error, for the wrong seat count, or for a licence you didn't request. Please raise any such request within 30 days of the charge (for renewals, from the renewal date).
6. After a term has started
Except where a refund is required by law or clause 5 applies, the fee for an annual term is non-refundable once that term is running, and we don't pro-rate refunds for the unused part of a term. Reducing your seat count takes effect at your next renewal rather than as an immediate refund.
7. How refunds are made
Approved refunds are issued by Stripe back to your original payment method. They're usually processed within a few days; how long the money then takes to appear depends on your bank or card provider, typically 5–10 business days.
8. Complaints
If you think the software is faulty or not as described, or you want to query a payment or refund decision, email support@screenswytch.co.uk marking your message "Complaint". We aim to acknowledge within one working day and to resolve things as quickly as we can.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time; the version in force when you buy or renew applies to that term. For anything to do with billing, cancellations or refunds, email support@screenswytch.co.uk and a person will get back to you.
